Internal Security Forces arrested two people Monday over their alleged involvement in the illegal internet operations.
The state-run National News Agency said police arrested two men, identified by the initials T. H and R. S, after a request from State Prosecutor Samir Hammoud.
The NNA added that the police’s cybercrime unit is listening to the testimonies of others as part of investigations to uncover the country’s unlicensed internet providers.
Telecommunications Minister Bouttos Harb announced last month that several illegal internet providers were operating in the country characterizing these networks as a national security threat due to what he said was definite Israeli infiltration.Daily Star News
